What are your thoughts about Team Building?

Why is everything called team building?
Is it truly correct to call everything a group of people might do together Team Building? Have you become a little cynical about team building? Do you ask yourself what will it really achieve? Do you believe that when the program is finished, the team is built? Will it ever be...?
Why do we think that one team experience builds a team
There are simple, cost and time effective ways to build a team where everyone is involved, motivated and engaged. It can be done – you just have to make it happen.
Why is a great team like great champagne?
To me the answer is simple. It all starts with the vines. You have to grow them; you have to tend to their every need; you have to protect them from the enemy (birds, frost, etc); you have to check on them on a regular basis early in life; you have to feed them or at the very least make sure they the right type of soil in which to grow and grow well.
What do flowers in Spring have to do with your team?
If you want flowers in Spring, you have to fertilise all year round. One dose of fertilizer in January will not give you flowers in August. The same goes for growing your team.
